list of places in north goa where north goa does not feel like north goa

North Goa has a reputation and mostly it earns it. These are the bits that do not.

1. 01

   Querim beach

   As far north as the state goes before it becomes a river. Wide, flat and usually nobody on it.

2. 02

   Mandrem beach

   The creek splits the sand from the road, so you cross a little bridge to get to the water. That one crossing keeps the crowds off.

3. 03

   Azule seafront

   A seafront table that does not shout. Come for sunset, stay because nobody rushes you.

   Elephant and Co.

   The kind of place you go when you want a proper meal and a conversation, not a scene.

   Bamboo Buns

   Small, fast, extremely good. Order more than you think you want.

6. 06

   Siolim roads

   Not a destination. Drive them slowly, in the late afternoon, with no plan.

7. 07

   Barefoot Goa

   Where you accidentally spend an hour and leave with something you cannot justify.

8. 08

   Mojigao, Assagao

   Tucked into the trees and quiet enough that you notice how loud everywhere else was.
